This article provides information on the latest posting of the AMD Catalyst™ Software Suite, AMD Catalyst™ 13.12.

This particular software suite updates the AMD Catalyst Display Driver and the AMD Catalyst Control Center / AMD Vision Engine Control Center.  This unified driver has been updated, and is designed to provide enhanced performance and reliability.

• ​ When installing the AMD Catalyst Driver for Windows® operating system, the user must be logged on as Administrator, or have Administrator rights to complete the installation of the AMD Catalyst Driver.
• The AMD Catalyst 13.12 Software Suite requires Windows 7 Service Pack 1 to be installed.
• These release notes provide information on the AMD Catalyst Display Driver only. For information on the AMD Multimedia Center™, HydraVision, HydraVision Basic Edition, Remote Wonder™, or the Southbridge/IXP driver, please refer to their respective release notes found at: http://support.amd.com/.
• The AMD Catalyst 13.12 Software Suite requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 to be installed.  Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is included in all Catalyst packages.
• AMD Eyefinity technology is designed to give gamers access to high display resolutions. As pixel count grows, the graphics “horsepower” required to drive the displays at a reasonable frame rate can increase dramatically. Depending on the game and system configuration, users may notice texture corruption and reduced frame rates when running games in multi-monitor Eyefinity modes.
• Windows Driver Model (WDM) drivers are no longer bundled in the AMD Catalyst software suite. The WDM drivers install bundle can be downloaded independently through the AMD website.

Vishera the last of AMD FX CPUs: Roadmap Shows

It seems that the FX processors from AMD have been the last generation of real 'pure' CPUs from them.  AMD FX "Vishera" is the last line of CPUs from AMD according to a radmap. It makes the most sense to focus on APUs for AMD, and let's be honest here, Intel is doing the same ever since Sandy Bridge with embedded IGPs. 
The AMD roadmap leaked onto the web by ProHardver.hu and shows that socket AM3+ "Vishera" will exist on AMD's product for a while longer into the year 2015 with no real data / plan (just look at the roadmap). 2015 will see the introduction of "Carrizo," an APU that succeeds "Kaveri," which will be based on future-generation "Excavator" CPU micro-architecture, and a future-generation GPU architecture, along with full HSA programming model implementation.
"Kabini" will be released  soon and mid-2014 "Beema" will follow it up. The APUs are looking good alright.

AMD A10-7850K and A10-7700K Kaveri A-Series APU Specs

The upcoming AMD Kaveri A-Series lineup already has been shown earlier but the first specifications of the A10-7850K and the A10-7700K Kaveri A-Series APUs that should replace previously available Richland-based A10-6800K and the Trinity A10-5800K APUs now have appeared on the web.
The A10-7850K is going to feature four Steamroller cores and 512 GCN stream processors and these features are going to help it come on equal levels with the Radeon HD 7750 as far as the graphics are concerned. It features a max compute of 856 GFLops for the CPU plus the GPU. This is a few steps ahead of the Richland A10-6800K APU which had 779 GFlops.
The clock speeds have been set at 3.7 GHz and it is assumed that this will be the base clock speedswith a turbo that will surpass the 4 GHz barrier. Both will also feature AMD's Turbo Core 3.0 feature as well as pack 4MB of L2 cache and feature unlocked multiplier. While the A10-7850K will be a 95W TDP part, the A10-7700K will be apparently available in both 65W and 95W version.
The GCN Radeon R7 GPU part with 512 stream processors will clock in at 720Mz GPU clock. The A10-7700K will work at slightly lower 3.5GHz base and 3.8GHz Turbo clocks as well as feature the same GCN-based R7 graphics but with slightly less 384 stream processors clocked at 720Mz. 

Both new Kaveri desktop APUs are scheduled to officially launch on 14th of January next year and have a sub US $150 price tag.
